Cannabis-Infused Cider to Warm Your Soul

It’s hard to say goodbye to summer: swapping t-shirts, barbecues, and balmy nights with parkas, scraping ice from windshields, and darkness by 5:00pm is no joke. Despite the warmth of the holiday season, the coming of winter can seem like a real wet blanket.

However, despite some bitter weather, there is plenty to appreciate about the winter months. The season brings snow, the holidays, winter sports, and the excuse to snuggle under a warm blanket by the fireplace while the snow comes down outside. One more perk? The chance to indulge in some hot apple cider.

A hot mug of apple cider has the ability to warm your insides on those chilly mornings. Or brighten up your moods during those cold, ugly nights. Can’t get out of caroling this year? Take a thermos of hard apple cider and sip it like normal. You name the activity, and some sweet, spicy, aromatic apple cider is a great companion during the winter season.

But don’t stop there; why not add a little cannabis tincture to your cider? It’ll brighten you up like you won’t believe. Most of us have heard about CBD-infused beverages served at some bars, but we don’t think of making THC-infused concoctions on our own. If you haven’t, it’s high time you tried!

Let us look at a basic recipe for homemade apple cider infused with cannabis tincture for a nice, warm high. You'll just need a crockpot or slow-cooker and some basic spices.

6 cups apple cider
¼ cup of sugar (depending on how sweet your cider base is)
1/2 ounce of cannabis tincture
1/8 teaspoon of cloves
1/8 teaspoons freshly-grated nutmeg
1 small piece of fresh ginger
8 cinnamon sticks for taste and garnish
1 teaspoon of whole cloves

1. Place the crockpot on the stove, and pour in the apple cider.
2. Add the nutmeg cinnamon sticks to the mixture. Stir them in so that they mix well.
3. Take your cheesecloth and place the cloves and nutmeg inside.
4. Secure the cheesecloth tightly, with the contents inside it and place in crockpot.
5. Now, add the brown sugar into the mixture (if needed. Bring to boil.
6. Let mixture boil for one hour, supervising occasionally.
7. Before removing the mixture from the pot, add the cannabis tincture and squeeze out the cheesecloth. This will ensure that you get whatever that was soaked by the contents in the cloth. Plus, it ensures that you get the extra flavor added by the spices.
8. Now, you can pour it in your mug to enjoy. You can always add a few extra spices or garnishes to the drink. The most preferred is an apple slice with your cinnamon stick. You can eat the slice later!

Enjoying a mug of apple cider is a holiday tradition for many of us. Why not make it better with the addition of some Mary Jane? With tincture, you can take classic holiday drinks to a whole new level.
