Cannabis Cough Syrup
It’s never fun to come down with the cold or flu, but it is especially rough when you get sick right in the heart of the holiday season. Sure, there are countless over the counter medications designed to help you feel better, but the majority of them knock you out, making it impossible to get anything accomplished during one of the busiest times of the year. You also need to consider the ingredients of these drugs, some of which may deliver some unwanted side effects, or which may just not be that good for you. We have you covered, as cannabis cough syrup can help you feel better, and can also be made to taste a whole lot better than those OTC cold and flu remedies.
If you enjoy a little hit of cannabis via a vape pen every day, that experience can be lost due to the fact that vaping, or smoking for that matter, can prove to be irritating to an already scratchy throat. Making your own cannabis cough syrup can kill two birds with one stone in that it eases up the pain and discomfort that comes with cold and flu symptoms, whilst also giving you that hit of cannabis that will almost instantly make you feel that much better.
The big question now is how to make that cannabis cough syrup, and what ingredients to include so that you get the best remedy possible. The cannabis ingredient is pretty self-explanatory, as we all know how effective it is in dealing with all sorts of different aches and pains. For some folks, it is those pains that are the worst part of being sick, as they often make it impossible to get on with your daily routine. There are a couple of other things that you can add to really create an effective cold and flu remedy.
Vitamin C is an essential ingredient in any cold and flu remedy, and it’s no different with cannabis cough syrup. Another excellent ingredient is pineapple, for a couple of different reasons. It can help deliver a very tasty syrup, while the bromelain in the fruit is great at easing the pain that comes with a scratchy throat. A little dash of lemon will also help with the taste and the vitamin C.
If you have a juicer, it is incredibly easy to put this concoction together. You will need a pineapple, 3 lemons, a pound of ginger, and 1 tbs of cannabis glycerin tincture, which will be enough to create 16 oz. of the syrup, which will have an estimated THC content of 2 mg per ounce. You will start out by removing the leaves and tough skin from the pineapple, cutting the fruit into chunks and placing it in your juicer or blender. The ginger needs to be skinned and the limes removed from the lemons. Add all the remaining ingredients, including the cannabis tincture, into your blender and mix. Strain out the pulp and put your delicious, highly effective cough syrup into a container. This syrup will help ease the symptoms of your cold or flu, but if it persists, make an appointment with your doctor.
